By accessing or using SawFacts (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Description of service

SawFacts is a free, informational reference that publishes chainsaw specifications and side-by-side comparisons for gas, battery, and corded electric chainsaws, together with a read-only JSON API. The Site is for general information and research only.

3. Accuracy disclaimer

Specifications are compiled from publicly available manufacturer sources. We believe them to be accurate but do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for any purpose. Manufacturers change product details without notice. Always verify specifications directly with the manufacturer or an authorized dealer before making a purchase or operating decision.

4. Safety notice

Chainsaws are dangerous power tools. The Site is informational only and is not a substitute for professional advice, training, or the manufacturer’s documentation. You must read and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions, warnings, and operating manual for any tool you use.

5. Intellectual property

The selection, compilation, arrangement, original descriptive text, and design of the Site are owned by the Site operator and protected by applicable law. The underlying factual specifications (numbers such as displacement, weight, and bar length) are facts and are not themselves copyrightable. You may reference and cite the Site, but you may not copy substantial portions of its compiled database or original text in a way that competes with the Site without permission.

6. Trademarks & no affiliation

Stihl, Echo, EGO, EGO Power+, and all product names, model numbers, and logos are trademarks of their respective owners. SawFacts is an independent project and is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or sponsored by any manufacturer. Trademarks are used only for identification and descriptive reference (nominative fair use).

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse the Site or API; attempt to disrupt or overload it; scrape it in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load; or use it for any unlawful purpose. Automated access to the public API should be reasonable and respectful. Well-behaved search and AI/answer-engine crawlers are welcome (see our robots.txt and llms.txt).

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT AND DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON THE SITE’S CONTENT, PURCHASING DECISIONS, OR USE OR MISUSE OF ANY PRODUCT. YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION IS TO STOP USING THE SITE.

The Site currently contains no affiliate links and earns no commissions. If affiliate or sponsored relationships are introduced in the future, they will be disclosed here and on relevant pages.

11. Governing law
